Launched by Diageo, the first International Scotch Day was observed on the 10th of February 2017, the birthday of the Johnnie Walker brand pioneer, Alexander Walker. This celebration of Scotch Whisky saw Diageo open the doors of their extensive archive to the public for the first time, and offer all of their distillery visitor center experiences free of charge. In an effort to raise awareness for the event, the company held an extensive social media campaign in the months leading up to the event, utilising the the tag #LoveScotch.

This well-presented gift set was sent to a variety of celebrities and social media influencers to endorse the event, and was not available for public sale. The set features three bottles of Scotch whisky from the Diageo portfolio, each of a different variety of Scotch whisky (single malt, single grain, and blended). The three bottles are the standard commercially-available version of the products, wrapped in a decorative plastic skin designed by the whisky-centered design agency, Heart & Feints.
