Albion 1986 Full Proof Demerara Rum 25 Year Old

Distilled in Guyana in 1986, this was bottled in February 2011 from single cask #10546 by Velier in 2011.

There is an irregularity on the label here. Both the bottle and box state different types of still being used for the production. The label claims "coffey still," whereas the box claims a "wooden continuous still." The cask mark on barrel #10546 is "AW," which is an Albion mark generally associated with the Port Mourant still, which was moved there following their closure around 1955. This however, was a double wooden pot still.

So it is unclear what exactly the style of this rum will be. What we do know is that following the closure of Albion in 1968, the Port Mourant Still was moved to Uitvlugt, as was the Albion Savalle still. SO this rum was certainly produced there. It in turn closed in 2000.
