酒款说明
This richly coloured Glendronach was distilled on the 16th of July 1993 and matured in single Oloroso cask #2463. Originally part of the distillery's hand-fill experience for visitors in 2023, it is now no longer available. This particular bottle was personally signed by the Glendronach master blender, Rachel Barrie, and she fittingly recalls that at the time the cask was filled, she was researching the use of ex-sherry wood for the Scotch Whisky Research Institute. In the intervening years, she has carved out a glittering career that sees her often referred to as Scotch Whisky’s First Lady. A Keeper of the Quaich and member of Whisky Magazine’s Hall of Fame, Rachel Barrie is one of the industry's most revered master blenders and her CV includes role at Glenmorangie, Ardbeg and Bowmore before taking the helm at Glendronach and Glenglassaugh in 2017.VIP Experience IncludedThis lot includes a bespoke tour and tasting of The Glendronach. In Support of The OurWhisky FoundationThis lot has been generously donated to support The OurWhisky Foundation. 100% of the funds raised from this auction, including Whisky Auctioneer’s buyer’s commission, will be donated to The OurWhisky Foundation in support of its work providing initiatives and projects that support women working in whisky.Named after the Greek goddess of grain, the Demeter Collection will highlight unique whiskies crafted and inspired by some of the industry’s most talented women. Despite her important role within Greek mythology, Demeter remains one of the lesser-known of the Olympians, her story largely untold in popular culture.Just like Demeter’s sidelining in pop culture, women’s contributions to whisky have been vastly under-recognised. Through the Demeter Collection we want to honour the grain goddess and tell the untold stories of women in whisky, while raising much-needed funds to enable the OurWhisky Foundation to support, recognise and empower future generations of women in the industry.
